Abstract :
The major findings of a four-year research programme into the application of established numerical modelling techniques to automotive EMC design are presented. Extensive validation of models of a simple structure against experiments has been carried out. As a result, a relatively unrefined model of a vehicle body shell has been successfully validated against experiment. A novel solution method combining two techniques was also investigated. The intended future developments are discussed, especially the integration of numerical modelling into CAD and CAE systems to give a complete design route for automotive EMC
