It is an approving technology of microaerobic granular sludge for pentachlorophenol (PCP) degrading because aerobic oxidation and anaerobic reduction can simultaneously occur. In this paper, study on pentachlorophenol (PCP) degradation with microaerobic granular sludge under continuous aeration was carried out. The results showed, that in 20 days operation, under continuous aeration PCP and CODCr removal rate achieved more than 85% and 80%, respectively, and the concentration of effluent TeCP, TCP and DCP were lower than 1.0mg.L-1. Cl- and gas production was also examined in the experiments and the values were above 7.50mg.L-1 and 900mL.d-1, respectively. It indicated from the experiment results that simultaneous not sequence aerobic-anaerobic process occurred for PCP degradation with microaerobic granular sludge.
