Abstract :
The storage resource of node is very limited in wireless sensor networks. The buffer of data message is base for the working of applications in the nodes. How to configure the reasonable size of buffer has become the research focus in the limited storage hardware. However, the size is decided by the length of message queue in buffer. Based on the architecture of wireless sensor networks system, the process of data transmission is firstly analyzed in this paper. Using the queuing theory method, the generic mathematical model of message buffer is derived. The theoretical length of message queue can be calculated. The effectiveness of the model is testified through a set of the experiments. Experimental results presents the theoretical model is consistent with the real values.
