Abstract :
In recent years, 3D TVs and the 3D video contents are widely exploited for many people. Due to these developments, many people will want to shoot the 3D contents with the stereoscopic camera, and share these contents by uploading them to the UCC website. However, some people can experience the visual discomfort and fatigue when they are watching the 3D video. In the manufacturing process of low-price stereoscopic camera, the mechanical misalignment could occur, and this can cause severe visual discomfort. Therefore, the 3D video signal obtained from these stereoscopic cameras should be modified by the camera calibration process. Also, the calibrated 3D video signal will be played on various handheld 3D display devices, so that these devices will need the 3D video format converter even for any kind of 3D displays. In our works, the calibration method and the 3D video format converters for any kind 3D displays were applied to our imaging system.
