  • Abstract
We fabricated a novel solar cells with the structure of indium tin oxide (ITO)/ titanium dioxide (TiO2)/ regioregular poly-(3-hexylthiophene)(RR-P3HT): [6,6]-phenyl C60 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)/ zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc)/ Molybdenum trioxide(MoO3)/Ag. ZnPc, which is well known as a p type material, was evaporated on PCBM: P3HT layer after annealing. A bulk-heterojunction of P3HT: PCBM and a bilayer heterojunction of PCBM/ZnPc existed simultaneously. The performance of photovoltaic device with a thin ZnPc layer is dramatically improved compared with that without ZnPc. The photocurrent density is improved from 6.90mA/cm2 to 8.31mA/cm2, and the power conversion efficiency is also improved from 2.79% to 3.06% under Air Mass 1.5 Global (AM1.5G) illumination with the intensity of 100mW/cm2 in ambient air.
