Abstract :
According to the requirement of the high pulsed peak power of the laser diode(LD) in the long distance laser fuze, we developed a technique that adjustable high voltage drives LD to emit high-power modulated pulses, and the pulsed power modulated (PPM) laser power supply is designed so that the fuze can work in various detective occasions. Based on the working principles of DC-DC boost converter as well as the transformable frequency and duty cycle output from the multivibrator, the PPM driver circuit which transforms the low input voltage to an adjustable DC high voltage is designed, simulated and tested. The experiment results indicate that the design can significantly increase the pulsed peak power of the LD. For the laser fuzes of various detection ranges, the PPM laser power supply has great value in practical applications.
