Abstract :
Because the import optical pulse width is limited to phonon lifetime T (T = 10 ns for silica fiber), meter spatial resolution can be realized in the Brillouin optical fiber sensor. But centimeter spatial resolution is required in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). To improve spatial resolution and keeping the import optical pulse width, a technique for fitting the spectrum data of Brillouin optical fiber sensing system with 10ns import pulse is proposed. The fitting results show that the spectrum fitting technique with Origin can improve the spatial resolution to 1cm.
