Abstract
A method for controlling job flows in a flexible manufacturing system is proposed. It consists of loading control and dispatching components for the loading station and workstations. For loading control, a modified linear program is solved by heuristics. For dispatching, learning by experimentation is used to formulate the heuristics. Results of simulation studies are given to show the effectiveness of the method
