            Abstract : 
Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is a recognized algorithm for optimization problems, but suffers from premature convergence. To prevent PSO from stagnation in local minima we are going to introduce a novel mutation operator. The proposed mutation operator is based on the student T distribution. The experiment performed on standard benchmark functions represent that proposed variant improves the performance of PSO.
