Abstract :
This paper describes the detection of an incident wave by using an antenna measurement system with a prototype digital beam forming (DBF) reception system. The operation frequency, the local oscillator frequency, and IF frequency considered in this paper are 2.09 GHz, 2.08 GHz, and 10 MHz, respectively. The transmitting antenna consists of a broadband standard horn antenna and signal generator. And the antenna reception system consists of the receiving array antennas, the prototype DBF receiver, the analog to digital (A/D) control box and personal computer in the anechoic chamber. The A/D control box is a digital signal processing unit for the detection of the incident wave. We compared between a monopole array antenna system and a patch array antenna one. We confirmed that the results of detection of the incident wave by using the monopole array antennas and patch array antennas have similar characteristics.
