Abstract :
This paper develops the simulation model of the tidal current power generation system by using the matrix converter (MC) to control synchronous generator (SG) instead of traditional back-to-back converter. The direct MC with space vector modulation technique is used to control the synchronous generator. The performance of the proposed MC controlled SG system is simulated for its validity.
