Abstract
The circuit emulation service is specified by the ATM Forum to carry certain types of constant bit rate (CBR) or “circuit” traffic over asynchronous transfer mode (ATM). To these time sensitive services, the cell transfer delay (CTD) and cell delay variation (CDV) are important characteristics. We compare different ATM multiplexer schemes, analyze their delay and CDV characteristics and presents a system design
