Abstract :
A developed markerless tracking system based on structured light integrated with the HRRT PET scanner was demonstrated for motion correction in PET imaging. The tracking system was compared to a commercial tracking system with comparable results. The two compared tracking systems both improved the PET image quality significantly applying list-mode motion correction compared to no motion correction. The major advantages of the presented SL system are the potential of being fully automatic and integrated with the medical scanner without any patient preparation and the elimination of the uncertainty related to a tool fixation.
