Abstract
It is important to satisfy users with service quality while making an effective use of limited network and server resources for a VOD service using ATM in the B-ISDN. This paper discusses necessary resources and their arrangement for a video information provider (VIP) to offer a VOD service on a wide-area ATM network, and proposes a VOD control and management server (VOD CM server) for video transmission control based on unique algorithms using network resources information
