Abstract
As the number of computer tools to perform EMI modeling increase, the need for a standard set of “problems” becomes more important. These standard problems allow vendors to benchmark their codes against each other and provide the potential user with realistic examples of uses of the code against real-world problems. This paper provides the results from two of the proposed “standard” EMI modeling problems. Modeled results are compared to real-world measurements to validate the models. The first class of standard problems predicted the shielding performance of a set of different sized air vent grill structures. The second class of standard problems solved was for the effect of an internal partial shield within an enclosure
