Abstract :
Multicarrier modulation (MCM) is an attractive technique for achieving high capacity for wireless and wired data transmission systems. However, one serious drawback of the MCM system is a high PAR (peak-to-average power ratio) value. There are many techniques to reduce this PAR value, for example, signal distortion techniques, coding techniques and techniques using a scrambling algorithm. A selective-PTS (partial transmit sequence) algorithm, which is based on a technique using a scrambling algorithm, is proposed and analyzed. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm shows similar PAR reduction performance and very low computational complexity as compared to the optimum-PTS algorithm.
