Abstract :
In this paper, two-dimensional optical CDMA system using trellis ternary coding scheme is investigated. We employ the carrier hopping prime code as signature sequences in time-spreading wavelength-hopping optical CDMA system. As the carrier hopping prime code is a symmetric code, the autocorrelation sidelobes is zero. We apply the orthogonality of this signature sequences to achieve the ternary transmission mechanism. Our proposed architecture is simple in both transmitter and receiver. Since multiple access interference is the major deterioration of system performance, using coding scheme is an effective way to reduce the error floor. The numerical results reveal that our proposed scheme can significantly improve the system performance.
