Abstract :
An effective technique for coupling the output of diode laser bars into optical fiber is demonstrated. The beam shaping method is based on stripe mirrors. Coupling with overall efficiency of 88% into a 365 μm fiber core diameter and 0.15 numerical aperture is achieved and the brightness is up to 430 kW/cm2.
