Abstract :
The use of component connection models (CCMs) is an approach to simulate large interconnected systems in an effective way. An interesting feature of this approach is that, for a circuit description, the specification of component characteristics and the specification of their interconnections can be separated. This feature can be used to create efficient simulation methodologies since the resulting equations are highly sparse. In this paper, component connection models are extended to include the switching components characterizing power electronic converters. The proposed methodology improves the simulation efficiency of power electronic converters. The simulation of several power electronic converters is presented to show the effectiveness of this methodology.
