Abstract
Summary form only given. Ladar systems for use in a strategic defense system will require very agile, and in some cases large, optical apertures to meet the requirement of interrogating a large number of objects over a short period of time with a limited number of platforms. This slide presentation describes two approaches taken to address this requirement: a near term monolithic "roving fovea" system, and a far term "electronically combined" multi-aperture phased array ladar receiver aperture. Both systems have application for systems operating from 10.6 μm into the visible.
