Abstract :
A novel scheme of IFSS (interframe shift sampling) for detection or restoration of a noisy image for a vision system is presented. The relation between sampling pitch and SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) gain is given. The benefits of SNR gain and data compression will be obtained in the case of oversampling. It is shown that the scheme of IFSS is very useful for vision systems operating in an intensely noisy environment and the image transmission from deep space vehicles
