Abstract
To meet the ever more stringent requirements of their customers, electric utilities have utilized the many advances in switchgear and controls afforded by the technology of today. The goal of this paper is to review the way these technologies have been applied to provide a single switching device that offers a high degree of system flexibility with minimum maintenance in a cost-effective, environmentally-friendly design
