            Abstract :
An attempt has been made to develop an image processing system for the analysis of the trabeculae. The trabecular images from a series of X-ray pictures of sliced bone are analyzed from the viewpoint of the thickness, density, and direction as the projected state in a plane. Next, the conditions for connecting three-dimensionally the data obtained from several slices are considered in order to reconstruct the three-dimensional structure of the trabecular system. The object of the analysis is trabeculae of the pelvis, which have a three-dimensionally complicated structure
