Abstract
The problem of diffraction of electromagnetic waves by a loaded double conducting wedge with dented edges is formulated. The loading is of the form of a dielectric cylinder whose circumference coincides with the circular arcs of the dents. The axis of the cylinder is therefore the line of intersection of the two similar wedges. The dielectric medium is assumed linear, homogeneous, isotropic, and free from losses. The upper and lower sectors are composed of free space. The analysis utilizes a field equivalent theorem by which the fields in the different regions are determined in terms of equivalent magnetic currents placed on the dielectric interfaces while they are covered by perfect electric conductions. The basic formulation and the specifies of the TE case are given.<>
