This study aims to identify key factors of components in surficial sediments affecting atrazine adsorption with cadmium or copper co-existed, and next to have an integrated understanding of atrazine adsorption mechanism onto suficial sediments. Grey relational analysis is employed to reveal how the atrazine adsorption is affected by Fe oxides, Mn oxides, and organic materials in this paper. Results indicated that the content of organic materials had the closest relationship with the maximum adsorption of atrazine with cadmium or copper absent or present. While cadmium was added in the solution, adsorption of atrazine onto original surficial sediments and each non residual component was enhanced, and the promotion was significant at cadmium level of 0.2 mg/L, but this effect was generally weakened as increase in cadmium levels. In addition, while copper coexisted in the solution, adsorption of atrazine onto original surficial sediments and each non-residual component was inhibited, and AT adsorption was restrained most distinctly at Cu level of 75.0 mg/L.
