Abstract :
In this work, we aim to increase the optical budget of a commercial Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) system based on TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access). The industrial system is a FlexLighttrade solution. Budget gain is analysed by comparing two schemes: firstly, the amplifiers are located at the central office (CO) and secondly, the amplifiers are in-line. In the first case, we obtained an extended optical budget of 9.5 dB. Using the second scheme, an extended optical budget of 38.5 dB is available.
