Abstract :
This paper proposes an up-conversion mixer designed and implemented in 0.18-mum CMOS process for UWB wireless system. The linearity of the mixer is enhanced by improving the double-balance Gilbert mixer structure to abate the second harmonic distortion. Current-reused bleeding technique is used to reduce the power of the mixer. The mixer demonstrates better than 11.6-dBm IIP3 and 6.5-dB conversion gain. The total power consumption is 8.14-mW at 1 -V power supply.
