Abstract
This paper presents a novel oxygen micropump which generates pumping power through the production of oxygen gas. Hydrogen peroxide is separated from catalyst by oily paraffin. The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide by catalyst can be commenced through melting the paraffin by an underlaid microheater. An initial triggering of the micropump by input of electric current resulted in the continuous production of oxygen gas through the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. Liquid sample within micropump was pushed by the produced oxygen gas and flew through a microchannel. Oxygen micropumps continued working for 10 to 30 minutes.
