This study presents the correlation analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis and histogram analysis of heavy metals geochemical characteristics in soils of parks and roads in Xiangtan City. The results show that : (1) As, Cd, Cu and Zn are positively correlated with the pH value; As is positively correlated with Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn; Cd positively correlated with As, Cu and Pb; Cu positively correlated with As, Cd, Pb and Zn; Pb positively correlated with As, Cu, Zn; Zn positively correlated with As, Cd, Cu and Pb; Hg does not exhibit distinctive correlation with other heavy metals and pH value; (2)There are two types of heavy metals; the first type includes Cr, pH, As, Zn, Cu, Cd while the other Hg and Pb; (3)There exist three main element combinations of heavy metals, namely, As-Cd-Cu-Pb-Zn-pH, Cr-Hg, and Cd-pH; (4)Through the evaluation of ecological geochemistry of heavy metals in soils of parks and roads in Xiangtan City, we can see that Cd and Hg are heavy pollution. And from the results of statistical analysis, Cd changes with the pH value and shows positive correlation with As, Cu, and Pb, but Hg doesn´t exhibit any correlation with pH and other heavy metals.
