The paper aims at investigating the relationship between economic growth and pollution emission by adopting the data of waste water discharge in China during a timeframe of 28 years, Taking Eco-efficiency analysis, the result show that Chinese sky-rocketing economic development highly improved the eco-efficiency of waste water, which take more than 10 times improvement in Eco-efficiency, and there haven´t any environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) exists through time series. The study provides deeper insights into the causes of eco-efficiency soaring, and gives further implications on this phenomenon. In the article, we also discuss the advantages and disadvantages for using eco-efficiency analysis as tools to judgment environmental condition.
