Abstract :
Based on the understanding of liberal arts educations of the past and a vivid awareness of advancing technology of the future it is now becoming clear that engineering education will become increasingly popular as it provides an alternate form of liberal arts education in the highly technical society of the future. This evolutionary trend does not mean that the old fashioned liberal arts will disappear, nor does it mean that engineering education will be the dominant liberal arts education in the future. But it does mean that engineering education will be superimposed on society and engineers will no longer be geeks living on islands within our society, but rather an engineering education will stimulate interactions among groups of frequently networking citizens who have opportunities to proceed along many professional paths in a technically sophisticated world.
