Abstract :
The author attempts to foresee society in the 21st century and to indicate some directions for the transportation and telecommunications of the future. His four basic issues are land, cities, families, and life-styles. He expresses the hope that all people working on the development of new technologies will do their best to communicate and work together to realize the dream of building a better world in the coming century
