  • Abstract
Surface transfer impedance measurements of overlapping cable braids on a large cable showed that the transfer impedance of this joining technique was not a sensitive function of the amount of overlap or the technique for applying pressure to the braids. Measurements of the transfer impedance of a hose clamp braid termination that increased the braid diameter by a almost a factor of three showed that the low frequency transfer impedance of the braid termination was about 1/6 of the low frequency transfer impedance of a meter of cable. The high frequency transfer impedance of the hose clamp braid termination was about 1/12 that of a meter of cable
