Abstract
As organizations continue to embrace the Internet, one of the burning issues management face is that of developing performance measurement systems for electronic business (e-business). However, research about performance measurement for e-business is scarce and none is done to link performance measurement with the uncertainty of the e-business environment. This paper presents the results of an effort to redress the above gaps. The major contribution of this paper is to shed some light on the development of performance measurement for e-business by proposing that in conditions of the high uncertain e-business environment, the selective non-financial performance measures under the balanced scorecard (BSC) framework are most useful in improving organizational effectiveness.
