Abstract
The authors consider a hybrid control approach for operation of a pendulum-car mechanical system to improve the unstable control phenomenon when the inclined angle of the pendulum is large by applying the linear state feedback algorithm. The proposed hybrid control approach combines the fuzzy logic control algorithm and the linear state feedback control approach to obtain the desired performance. An experimental system has been designed and its control system has been implemented with successful operation from downward stable position to up-right holding position
