Abstract :
A proposal for an alternative methodology to solve optimal maintenance problems is presented in this paper. Monte Carlo simulation and Response Surface Equations constitute the core of the methodology to enable the rapid processing of optimization without oversimplifying either the input probability distributions or system structure. A numerical study of the Time Limited Dispatch of Full Authority Digital Engine Control is presented to demonstrate how cost-efficient maintenance policies can be established by applying the proposed methodology, while satisfying all pertinent requirements.
