Abstract :
The existing three dimensional imaging algorithm (B. Donal et al., “Three dimensional ultrasound imaging of eye”, Royal College of Opthalmologists, p. 75-81, 1996) focuses only on a 3D image, viewed exterior to the globe of the eye, whereas the proposed 3D algorithm can also provide a view as perceived from the interior. This algorithm provides a realistic textured multispatial perspective view and helps in unravelling the intricacies of the eye. Until now 3D treatment of multidefectual eyes has not been studied. So specific regions of the globe are made transparent to evaluate the less conspicuous contours of the hidden defects. The views presented are helpful in forestalling the postoperative complications. The diagnostic support system is achieved by performing multiresolution decomposition of ultrasonograms using orthogonal wavelet transforms to localize and detect the defects in the globe of the eye. Thus the 3D reconstruction and multiresolution analysis complement each other to provide an integral decision support system
