The authors offer strategies for controlling document quality. They define error in a way that is broadly applicable and useful. That is, they classify errors relative to their potential effect on documents, and identify the writing, editing, or production tasks that serve to detect errors of each class. They describe how these considerations apply in establishing priorities for document specifications, schedules, and budgets, and in evaluating products
