Effect on nitrogen and phosphor removal of a HMBR reactor conducted with a UCT process was observed and its influencing factors were discussed. The system was run under different conditions of nitrified liquor effluent ratio (R), mixed liquor reflux ratio (r), sludge retention time (SRT) and organic load (represented by C/N ratio) and the effects were detected. The results showed that this system performed preferably in nitrogen and phosphor removal under the condition of R=300%, r=200% SRT=28d, C/N=5~8. On average, the removal rate of TN was 79.17%, and TP was 86.68%. The effluent concentration of TN was 11.78mg/L and TP was 0.71 mg/L. All of these can meet the first grand requirement of Discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatment plant (GB 18918 - 2002).
