Abstract :
In this paper we propose E2CLCC (Energy Efficient Cross Layer Cooperative Cluster) computing algorithm for distributed wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A cross layer scheme that takes into account MAC and network layer is considered to improve the performance of network as both these layer have great emphasis on energy efficiency of ad hoc network. E2CLCC is divided into cluster formation and maintenance, routing in cluster, cross layering, cache storage and perfecting technique. To conserve energy we take into consideration of remaining energy of the node for the selection of cluster head. We use NS-2 simulator and results show that E2CLCC performs better than other proposed protocols.
