Abstract :
More and more attention is paid to computer aided automobile body conceptual design field in recent years. This paper presents a novel method which applies evolutionary design to the automobile body conceptual design system. By using some evolutionary design algorithm like genetic algorithm, the method helps designers to produce innovative design ideas and interesting results in the stage of automobile body conceptual design. The case study demonstrates the advantages of the proposed method.
