In this paper, the effects of various parameters, such as the amount of biomass, pH value, stirring time and culture time, on heavy metals biosorption by P.fluorescens were studied. Meanwhile, the optimal removal condition was obtained by orthogonal experiment, and the heavy metals biosorption were researched. The results showed that heavy metals were adsorbed by P.fluorescens with the order of the adsorption efficiency of Cr>; Pb>; Cu>; Cd. It demonstrated that P.fluorescens was more suitable for handling relatively high concentration wastewater of chromium and lead. For effectiveness, biosorption depends upon selectivity of heavy metals and initial concentration under a constant reaction condition. Compared with the conventional technologies, the method of using P.fluorescens as adsorbents costs less, and has higher removal efficiency.
