Abstract
This paper presents a review of the current trend of terminal antenna design, which has been a focused part of modern antenna industry in last decade. Wideband, multiband and embedding characteristics of terminal antennas in different applications are the main features of this trend. Techniques often employed for these requirements are discussed. However, the relative issues for such a kind of design are lower antenna´s efficiency due to the band-broadening and matched-impedance change due to the terminal´s metal enclosure, etc. Aspects of efficiency evaluation and simulation problems for design are also commented.
