Abstract
Manufacturing execution system (MES) applications for various enterprises are briefed before MES approach is introduced to knitting industry. The architecture of knitting MES are addressed based on analysis of characteristics of knitting process, where roles of and relationships between system modules are described. Among them the scheduling algorithm for parallel dyeing machines are proposed based on heuristic method, and simulation model and mechanism for fabric workshops are also illustrated. At last, an instance of practical knitting enterprise is given to demonstrate the benefits of knitting MES implementation.
