Abstract :
The author describes the problems and solutions associated with offering a single course entitled Digital Computer Fundamentals that is required in both the CS (computer science) and EE (electrical engineering) degree programs. It is noted that special efforts are required in organizing the laboratory portion of the course to insure that the CS students are not at a competitive disadvantage because of their lesser amount of prior laboratory experience. At the end of the semester, the students were identified by their discipline. The laboratory grade distributions were examined and no significant differences were noted between the two groups
