Abstract
The author describes the quick and dirty computer user´s guide. He examines how guides differ from manuals and quick reference cards, the problems they solve, their preparation, and their future. A quick and dirty guide focuses on one specific task, succinctly describing what to do. An illustration of a guide being developed for a college report assignment is presented
