Abstract :
PMD compensator combined with optical Amplifier has been developed for 40G systems. In the experimental set up, 40Gbps data goes into a spool of fiber of 400km before going into the developed PMD compensator combined with optical amplifier. The optical amplifier is useful to prevent signal degradation due to optical loss contributed by the fiber attenuation and other optical elements. The performance of the proposed experimental arrangement is tested using BER tester and Eye pattern analyzer. The measurement on BER, eye opening and jitter will be captured and analyzed in order to prove that the link setup is working as expected in the 40G environment. The results have proved the ability of our developed PMD compensator combined with optical amplifier to deliver better services at 40G transmission.
