Abstract :
This paper presents an outline of the architecture of an intelligent tutoring system based on the general architecture and ideas of the Emotion Machine. This is an agent-rich system, in which agents\´ activity shifts between different action-supporting layers of "thinking". In this work, the EM architecture is adapted for a hybrid adaptive tutoring system. We discuss the proposed architecture, its major components, and the general principles of the EM-style layers of the architecture.
