  • Abstract
Series-fed arrays have the advantages of simpler and more compact feed networks, and lower feed line losses, compared with corporate fed arrays. The CP-PASS (circularly polarized printed array antenna composed of strip dipoles and slots) is a type of series-fed array. Both the transmission line and the radiator of the antenna have a simple linear shape. The paper describes the input admittance of a strip element for a CP-PASS. The strip element is composed of a strip dipole and a window which increases the frequency bandwidth of the strip element. The conventional design procedure of this antenna involved an experimental procedure. This is rather complicated for the simple structure. In the paper, the basic characteristics of the window is demonstrated numerically by using the FDTD method.<>
