Abstract :
A millimeter wave planar antenna is proposed to realize a practical car warning radar. To obtain a very thin radar structure, leaky NRD guide is used to feed the planar antenna and the feeding structure is folded under the antenna aperture with the aid of a short-circuited 3-dB coupler. The fabricated planar antenna is 160 mm×160 mm in area, 11 nm in thickness, and has gain of 31.5 dBi at 59.5 GHz. The half beam widths are 2.1 degrees and 2.8 degrees in E-plane and H-plane, respectively
